Disappointment .... The place around is stunning and this cafe is ruining everything. Expensive, not tasty and the service is not something
Very nice location, friendly service. Food: Price-performance ratio was ok, but - measured by the fact that the number of dishes is manageable, we only ordered standard and was not overly busy - took a very long time (over 40 minutes!) Had to ask several times, so that still Almost 10 minutes remained to eat until the boat should continue. No fun with two small children! Note: Despite the modern cash register system, only cash payments are possible.
No menu available. Very overpriced prices. Staff very unfriendly. Never again.
Absolutely under all hell ... We were unloaded for lunch as part of our boat trip and had to stay here for an hour. There is no menu at the table - because of Corona ... (Others get it too people!). There is no meal under € 10.90. The pasta with tomatoes was decorated with cucumber and a handful of cheese (hello lactose !!!). Visually, the food looked like a bad canteen meal and of course it was brought without a napkin.
We were dumped here on a boat tour. Unfortunately I have to honestly say that we were more than disappointed. Really horrific prices! For 2 drinks just under 10 euros. In addition, the menu was very limited to fish and pork. If someone then snippily tells me that I can eat something vegetarian, that's really cheeky for the present time! Even if it was pushed a bit on Corona, that's a strong number. It also doesn’t show a good service that on the one hand it wasn’t even asked whether you would like to eat anything at all ("I’ll be right back and then take your food") and on the other hand, when asked if everything was okay, the above described happens. The toilets smelled bad and there was (hopefully) water under the urinals. 1 star for the location on the water.
Short break during the relaxing boat trip in Café Venice. Wonderful cake, friendly and cordial service. The highlight of our visit in picturesque surroundings, so to speak. We'd love to come back❤️
It was great again. Super nice service ... great food! Simply great!
Good restaurant in the Spreewald. The service was quick and friendly, despite the large number of people. The food tasted really good.
Very delicious food and the coffee tasted great
The Café Venice was recommended to us by our kayak rental company, as it shouldn't be as crowded here as at the stations in front of it - which was actually the case - except for employees, there was nobody to be seen anywhere. So we paddled to Café Venice and were full of anticipation for a little refreshment when we got there after over an hour on the water and straight from a happy hour chalk board with "Welcome" and "A scoop of ice cream from 15- 4 p.m. for free paddlers ". I got out of the kayak at 3:50 p.m. and went into the restaurant when an employee was sitting there at a table and counting bills. I asked him if it was still possible to order two coffees or something. He sent me to the door and said I should wait outside. Said and done. So I stood in front of the door for 5 minutes as ordered and not picked up, until I heard the employee call to his boss: "We're closed now, aren't we?" Which the boss confirmed in the next moment. I felt completely fooled and, after a short conversation with the employee, I went to my kayak - just before 4 p.m.! One can only say: Germany, the number one service desert. If you promise something on a chalkboard, you should keep your promise, or leave it alone. We told the story to the kayak rental company - he will most likely not recommend Café Venice to anyone!
Super nice service and the selection of cold drinks and dishes let all hungry guests move on quickly satisfied. Whether by paddle boat or by boat or on foot, all guests are welcome here.
The fastest restaurant I know, food very good, nice service stop Spreewald prices. But highly recommended, we were there several times.
Fatal food for terrible prices. I don't know who thought to add watermelon, feta cheese and mushrooms to the cereal at once. Nothing was tasty.
Today we were on a boat tour through the Spreewald to the café in Café Venice and were very disappointed for a price of EUR 4.90 for an ice cream parlor ... the ice cream ball was criss-crossed with chunks of ice that were not vanilla ice cream ... Such ice belongs in the garbage ... Sorry .. And then what is called coffee there ... No idea what that should be ... Dark water without taste ... Running past the coffee waving ... And for that too long for our service time ... It wasn't worth the price ... But because we didn't want stress ... Paid and back on our barge ...
This place does not accept credit cards so we did not get to eat anything here. Sodas were fine. You have to pay to use the restroom which is really odd when you are a paying customer!
Suffer no gastronomic achievements seen. Service was nice but that's about it. The food tasted like back then in school. Cash payment only!
There is only one star for the ambience! During Covid 19 hours, only cash can be paid! For the prices, you should have a credit card with you. There is no map, you have to read through 5-6 boards that are set up somewhere. We were 6 people and would have liked to have received our order at the same time. Pity! At least the boat trip was very nice.
Very idyllically located in the middle of the Spreewald. Tasty ice. Great Spreewald dishes.
Very very overpriced place. You are actually brought in here in one of the boat trips, having no choice but to spend there 40 minutes. The coffee is very bad, the pancake we got was very mediocre but we payed 10 euro for it. So my recommendation - just keep away. P.S. they accept only cash
The restaurant is a bit out of the way, but worth a visit. The food looks rather simple, but is delicious. The service staff is very friendly and relaxed and very fast, which has a positive effect on the waiting time. Despite very full terrace, we got our food and drinks quickly. In addition, we were able to talk briefly with our charming service. In the Spreewald the best restaurant that we visited. Another visit is planned.
We were here for a break on a tour of the Spreewald. The service was committed and friendly. The food of my choice was sold out, no matter what happens. Then turned around, was delicious. Unfortunately, due to the short time the visitors spend, very hectic. Table stuck, Coke was non-carbonated and very thin in taste. The latte I ordered came far after the ice cream. Therefore 2 points deduction.
Supper
Am glad there was something this nice in the middle of nowhere
Fast service, but the iced coffee was very expensive for what you got. The cucumber ice cream was delicious but on the whole very, very expensive. You should think twice.
1 star for the service. Otherwise the food was like a garbish. This restaurant/cafe has a good agreement with boat tour guys to bring the tourists here for an expensive and junky food. Never again. There are many other restaurants that are cheaper and much better.
